Chemistry and the Environment

While waiting in an airport for a plane, you overhear this statement: "It's paranoid and ignorant to worry about industry or agriculture contaminating the environment with their chemical wastes. After all, this stuff is just made of the same atoms that were already present in our environment." Take what you have learned from Chemistry and counter this argument.

Themes in the Study of Life

There are 6 major themes that connect all of the concepts of Biology. They are all listed and described in Chapter 1 of your textbook. I want you to pick one of the themes and describe its role in connecting Biology. I then want you to tell me some of the technology out there that might be used to help study that theme. Each Theme may only be discussed twice and one of them three times. So if there is one that you really want to do, I suggest that you do it before anyone else does.
